Victoria B. Chou
Faculty Member Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins UniversityVictoria B. Chou is a faculty member in the Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She collaborates with diverse partner organizations including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, USAID, and jhpiego to conduct analyses using the Lives Saved Tool (LiST) and has provided advanced training and on-going technical assistance for the application of the evidence-based tool to users from governmental agencies, sponsored programs, and international NGOs. Her previous work focused on capacity-building and estimating the impact of child survival and family planning interventions in USAID's maternal and child health (MCH) priority countries.
With extensive experience in basic science, clinical research, and global health, her academic training includes a MS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a PhD in International Health. Her dissertation research, conducted as a Fulbright fellow from 2008-2009, included a large population-based follow-up study of 4,500 mother-child pairs in rural Nepal to examine the impact of young maternal age on maternal and child health outcomes.
