@ChoonaraShakira Dr Shakira Choonara (29) is an award-winning health researcher, bold activist and the 2017 Woman of the Year in Health, in South Africa.
More recently, she was appointed to the inaugural African Union’s Youth Advisory Council and holds a position as Obesity Prevention Coordinator for South Africa at the Washington based NGO, Global Health Advocacy Incubator.
She is the Adolescent Healthcare Manager at the SRHR Africa Trust where has been credited in promoting youth leadership and advocacy for Sexual and Reproductive Health (#SAT4YOUTH #YouthQuake).
