Hilde Klemetsdal
Director for Human Rights, Democracy and Gender Equality Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NorwayHilde Klemetsdal is the Director for Human Rights, Democracy and Gender Equality in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prior to this, she was the Deputy Director for UN Policy. She has been a Senior Adviser in the Section for Peace and Reconciliation, after serving as a Counsellor at Norway’s Permanent Mission to the UN in New York, covering Women, Peace and Security and humanitarian affairs. From 2009, she headed the Project for Women, Peace and Security in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has worked with humanitarian issues, specifically on protection of civilians and the Middle East, and has been posted to Kenya for three years, as a political officer at the Norwegian Embassy in Nairobi. She has also served at the Prime Minister’s Office. She has an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Oslo.
