Jennifer Wakarura Gatheca
Msichana InitiativeJennifer Wakarura Gatheca is a 15 year old from Tanzania. She has a passion for public speaking and spending impacting on the society positively. She has volunteered at Msichana Initiative an NGO that deals with gender issues. She where played the role of an assistant in the Field and Program Planning. From performing office meetings to outdoor events, these remarkable sessions, Jennifer was able to not only improve her communication skills with her peers, but was also able to see the society from a different perspective. This has helped her understand life as a reality, and how one should appreciate what they have, because not many have the privilege and access to everything they need. Jennifer also took part in the ninth Dar Model United Nations, 2019. As the main submitter of Canada in the Human Rights Commission, she led the team in proving why the rights of the disabled should be abided. Jennifer stands for Equal Rights because she believes everyone plays an important role in a community or society regardless of gender. Therefore, it is important for them to be able to not only live freely but safely express their abilities as well as their personalities, without having to worry or fear being judged by their actions.
