Gabriela Muñoz
Population CouncilGabriela Muñoz is the research assistant at Population Council Office. She is an anthropology student at Universidad del Valle de Guatemala and has a special interest in agency, empowerment and Sexual and Reproductive Health. The Council is an organization that is dedicated to advancing the evidence base on different issues around health, poverty, gender and youth in the world. As a result, Abriendo Oportunidades in Mesoamerica is born, a program focused on indigenous girls and adolescents living in rural areas of the country. As a research assistant, Gabriela is responsible for supporting the advancement of qualitative research around the life trajectory of Abriendo Oportunidades mentors, and the opportunities and challenges young indigenous women face in rural Guatemala.
