Mr. Abenet Berhanu is the Country Director for Amref Health Africa in Uganda, and serve as a member of Health Policy Advisory Committee (HPAC) at Ministry of Health (MOH) since September 2012. He has over 20 years of non-governmental organization (NGOs) experience, and has held a senior level positions including Chief of Party, Deputy chief of party, and Regional Coordinator at PATH, Abt Associates, and Pathfinder International. In his long years of service, Mr. Berhanu has contributed to a global and national policy, advocacy, and program leadership to advance a rights based approach to health and education, gender equality, and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). Mr. Berhanu has a Master’s degree in Public Health from Royal Tropical Institute in the Netherlands, and Master of Business Administration from University of Roehampton in London.
