Halima is a global health and women’s rights advocate. She is passionate about working with young girls and women in making positive changes in communities. She has worked as an advocate and activist at the intersection of meaningful youth participation engagement, human rights, gender equality, and maternal health, Reproductive Health and Supplies (RHS) and Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management (MHM). She is the co-lead of the MHM and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) task force of the African Coalition for Menstrual Health Management (ACMHM).

She leads women-led Hope Centre Tanzania - an organization which aims to ensure that girls and women access their rights to decide, free to choose their lives and future. Hope Centre Tanzania - works collaboratively with others such as religious leaders, traditional leaders and elders in bringing about positive change in the communities. Halima is passionate about community participation-centred design, as well as adolescents and women-led approaches to bring results through the meaningful engagements of the people in communities.
