Christine Ndegwa
First Lady of Kwale County, KenyaHer Excellency Christine Ndegwa is the First Lady of Kwale County, Kenya since 2013. She is also a national Menstrual Health Management (MHM) Champion and her role is to provide high-level advocacy on MHM in Kenya and crowning of other champions. As a Senior Menstrual Health Management Trainer, she has trained in Tanzania and Kenya, organised and trained 25 County First Ladies on MHM and developed the base for the MHM program ‘Adolescent Health Initiative-Keeping Girls and Boys in School’ ran by County First Ladies in Kenya.
Christine also runs Fanikisha Foundation, which integrates MHM into sexual, reproductive Health, family planning, campaigns against early marriage & teenage pregnancies, adolescent health and wellbeing, and mentorship programmes within the County and in Kenya. She holds a Master’s degree in Education, Health Promotion and International Development from University College London (UCL).
