Nesime Salioska established and lead a civil organization ROMA S.O.S. from 2007 till 2018 which was focused on legal empowerment of the Roma community, advocacy, strategic litigation, non-discrimination, fight against poverty and protection of women and children. M

Through her activities were initiated changes and additions to the Law on contributions from compulsory social security, Law on health insurance, the Criminal Code and Law on primary education. 

First Prize winner for Republic of North Macedonia of the EU 2019 Award for Roma Integration in the Western Balkans & Türkiye, dedicated to Roma women activists - drivers of change whose commitments contribute to promoting a more inclusive society (fight against child marriages). She is acknowledged as one of the nine UNFPA real-life superheroes and entitled as the “Chain Breaker” on the occasion of 8th of March 2019. Nesime Salioska is an active member of the International Roma Women Network “Phenjalipe”. As a co-presenter, together with a Oscar nominated film maker and founder of Narrative Company, on invitation by Smith College (USA), Nesime gave a speech on transforming Roma Narratives through storytelling, 4th of June 2019 in the Weinstein Auditorium on the Smith College Campus. She is a member of International Steering Committee for the Nairobi Summit.
