Ms. Zarifa Ghafari, daughter of Abdul Waseh, was born in 1992 in Darakhel village of Chak district of Maidan Wardak province. Ms. Ghafari is an experienced foreign affairs officer with a demonstrated history of working in the executive office industry. She is skilled in management and leadership qualities with a strong community and social services experiences. She holds a Bachelor & MA focused in Economics from India.

In addition to her studies, Ms. Ghafari is an entrepreneur, having started a popular radio station “Peghla FM Radio” aimed at women’s right in Wardak, and now other parts of the country.

Ms Ghafari was selected on 3rd July, 2018, through the Independent Competition for the Mayor of Maidan Wardak, and is currently serving as the mayor of the Maidan Wardak provincial center.
