Special Envoy Global Alliance of National Human Rights InstitutionsFlorence is a Kenyan lawyer, trained at the University of Nairobi(LLB) and University of Bristol (LLM) and a certified Judicial Trainer by the Commonwealth Judicial Training Institute (Nova Scotia Canada). Currently lectures at the University of Nairobi, School of Law. Serves as a Special Envoy of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) directly responsible for CSW, UNOEWA and matters related to Migration and Refugees. She was the Chairperson of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights and the Secretary of Global Alliance for National Human Rights Institutions (formerly the ICC of NHRIs). Previously worked as a Judicial Officer and served on various legal reform task forces in Kenya (Secretary to the Taskforce on Community Service Orders, Secretary to the Legal Sector Reform Coordinating Committee, Member of the Ransley and Naikuni Committees on Police Reforms). Has consulted, conducted trainings and made presentations on various legal and human rights issues in the governance sector at the national, regional and international level, including at the Commission on the Status of Women, Inter Parliamentary Union meetings (African Chapter). Served as Secretary to the Task Force on Community Service Orders and Legal Sector Reform Coordinating Committee (Kenya). Member of the International Commission of Jurists (Kenya) and International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA, Kenya).
