Ms.
Berine Bukva
Head of Office RYCO Local Branch Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Berina Bukva is born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina on 16th December, 1989.

Holds a degree in Law and is currently working on her Master thesis in International Law.

She is Head of RYCO Local Branch Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Regional Youth cooperation Office for Western Balkans) which is an intergovernmental mechanism, founded by the Western Balkans 6 participants (WB 6): Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia, aiming to promote the spirit of reconciliation and cooperation between the youth in the region through youth exchange programs. For 10 years now she is working in non-governmental sector on youth issues. Main focus of work is boosting the capacities of high schools and civil society organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region through capacity building trainings, intercultural dialogues, youth mobility driven projects and raising awareness of necessity of institutional cooperation and dialogue with the governmental authorities.

Berina strongly thinks education and knowledge without practice and chance to act in our communities is waste of time and resources. She believes that well educated and capacitated young people are the best power and resource to prevent and/or fight against negative trends in society.

There is no better way to enhance this world than to put young people at the table and make them relevant and credible participants of decision making processes.

She is a storyteller, magician – when needed – and a firm believer and activist for a better future for young people.
