Mr. Matia Kasaija is a Ugandan politician. He is the current Minister for Finance in Uganda's Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 1 March 2015.. From 27 May 2011 until 28 February 2015, he served as the State Minister for Finance (Planning) in the Cabinet of Uganda.  Before that, he served as the State Minister for Internal Affairs, from 1 June 2006 until May 2011. He is also an elected Member of Parliament for "Buyanja County", Kibaale District.  Mr. Kasaija also served as a Board Member of the Partners in Population and Development from 2011 to 2015.

He was born in Kibaale District on 28 May 1944. He studied atUniversity of Nairobi, back in the 1960s when it was part of the University of East Africa. Kasaija graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in 1967.
