Accelerate the reduction of preventable mortality and severe maternal morbidity in rural and dispersed areas.
Commitment description:Women and girls are more exposed to inequalities in unequal power relationships. This affects their pursuit of education, employment opportunities and access to health care services, while exposing them to physical, sexual and emotional violence. In the pact for women’s equality (National Development Plan 2019–2022), the country commits to accelerate the reduction of preventable mortality and severe maternal morbidity in rural and dispersed areas in response to the public policy on sexuality... (3) Zero preventable maternal deaths and maternal morbidities, such as obstetric fistulas, by, inter alia, integrating a comprehensive package of sexual and reproductive health interventions, including access to safe abortion to the full extent of the law, measures for preventing and avoiding unsafe abortions, and for the provision of post-abortion care, into national UHC strategies, policies and programmes, and to protect and ensure all individuals’ right to bodily integrity, autonomy and reproductive rights, and to provide access to essential services in support of these rights.Mode of engagement:
For a JUST CAUSE for Colombian women
Commitment description:In Colombia, in the fight to ensure the sexual and reproductive rights of women in our country, we at La Mesa por la Vida y la Salud de las Mujeres and La Red Nacional de Mujeres commit to advocating for the full application of the right to abortion and to guaranteeing it as a health service, seeking to eliminate access barriers, as well as encouraging public debate and arguing for the need to remove the crime of abortion from the Penal Code, a process that we call JUST CAUSE.
(2) Zero unmet need for family planning information and services, and universal availability of quality, affordable and safe modern contraceptives.

Commitment description:We commit to support countries in addressing demographic change, inlcuding population ageing and low fertility, based on human rights and the best available evidence.

Achieving UNFPA's three 'Zeros'
Commitment description:To meet the estimated gap of US$222 billion between 2020 and 2030 for acheiving UNFPA's three 'zeros', we will accelerate our efforts with partners to mobilize more diversified financing acrosss the humanitarian-development nexus to better meet the needs of affected populations.
(7) Increasing international financing for the full, effective and accelerated implementation of the ICPD Programme of Action, to complement and catalyze domestic financing, in particular of sexual and reproductive health programmes, and other supportive measures and interventions that promote gender equality and girls’ and women’s empowerment.
Elimination of Harmful Practices and Gender Based Violance
Commitment description:We commit to scaling up our prevention and response efforts to eliminate harmful practices against women and girls, including child marriage, female genital mutilation and son preference, within the global gender equality agenda.
(5) (a) Zero sexual and gender-based violence and harmful practices, including zero child, early and forced marriage, as well as zero female genital mutilation; and (b) Elimination of all forms of discrimination against all women and girls, in order to realize all individuals’ full socio-economic potential.

Commitment description:We will extend our UNFPA Supplies programme to 2030, and expand its scope, as the main vehicle to end unmet need for modern contraceptives and increase the availability of essential reporductive health commodities.

Commitment description:• Commit to the notion that nothing about young people’s health and well-being can be discussed and decided upon without their meaningful involvement and participation (“nothing about us, without us”) which is captured in the Vanuatu National Youth Policy and the Vanuatu National Youth Authority Act with a primary focus on the capacity building and participation of youth in all sectors of national development.
(4) Access for all adolescents and youth, especially girls, to comprehensive and age-responsive information, education and adolescent-friendly comprehensive, quality and timely services to be able to make free and informed decisions and choices about their sexuality and reproductive lives, to adequately protect themselves from unintended pregnancies, all forms of sexual and gender-based violence and harmful practices, sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS, to facilitate a safe transition into adulthood.
