Eradicating violence against women. (VAW)

The Tunisian State is committed to providing the necessary means for implementing the provisions of organic law No. 2017-58 of 11 August 2017, relating to the eradication of violence against women, by 2025, by: Implementing the necessary provisions to guarantee the rights and legal, health, psychological and social care of women and children residing with them. Developing and implementing policies, strategic plans and programmes to eliminate all forms of violence against women in all spaces. Developing and carrying out a multisectoral programme for preventing and tackling violence against women in public and private institutions, based on educational and cultural programmes, from 2025. Creating 18 spaces designed to receive female victims of violence and providing these victims with psychosanitary services by 2025 Training 250 media professionals in covering cases of violence against women Carrying out awareness campaigns on the dangers of violence against women, and methods of addressing and preventing such violence Setting up a system for the reporting of all cases of violence Setting up partnership, support and coordination systems with civil society Setting up a national observatory to address violence against women by 2021 Eradicating all discriminatory practices against women involving economic exploitation Integrating programmes to prevent and address violence against women into social protection entities by 2025 Training 20,000 health professionals in providing care to female victims of violence by 2025 Integrating, through the ministries of justice and the interior, prevention, efforts to address violence against women, and integration of victims in the family and social environment into educational and training programmes by 2025 Carrying out rehabilitation programmes for perpetrators Setting up a system to monitor police officers, particularly the imposition of sanctions on officers who pressurize the victim
