INTERGENERATIONAL AND MULTICULTURAL DIALOGUE TO PROMOTE MULTILEVEL ADVOCACY FOR ABORTION IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN
Commitment description:We are committed to creating processes for intergenerational and multicultural dialogue to strengthen multilevel advocacy for abortion in Latin America and the Caribbean, in order to: 1) Organize collective processes to strengthen women's movements in Latin America and the Caribbean, which will enable international, regional and national abortion advocacy strategies to be formed. 2) Drive innovative campaigns and demands that promote cultural change on the right to decide. 3) Advocate before public authorities to defend and enforce compliance with the international recommendations surrounding abortion. 4) Equip and provide training for the development of empowering knowledge, boosting women’s voices in defence of the right to decide. 5) Systematize the lessons learned and best practices of female advocates of the right to abortion and the organizations working on the issue in LAC in order to replicate them in other countries, adapting them for the different contexts and specificities of each area, with an intersectional approach.

(3) Zero preventable maternal deaths and maternal morbidities, such as obstetric fistulas, by, inter alia, integrating a comprehensive package of sexual and reproductive health interventions, including access to safe abortion to the full extent of the law, measures for preventing and avoiding unsafe abortions, and for the provision of post-abortion care, into national UHC strategies, policies and programmes, and to protect and ensure all individuals’ right to bodily integrity, autonomy and reproductive rights, and to provide access to essential services in support of these rights.
