Every woman and girl must be free to decide without being forced to continue a pregnancy as a result of laws that criminalize abortion.
Commitment description:By 2030, CLACAI will work alongside 150 member organizations in their actions to fight for and achieve the total decriminalization of abortion in four countries; expand the grounds permitted in eight countries and eradicate the total ban on abortion in the region; have mifepristone registered as an essential medicine for obstetric use in 10 countries; and ensure 15 countries have protocols for treating girls under the age of 15 with unintended pregnancies, ensuring universal, stigma-free and high-quality access.

(3) Zero preventable maternal deaths and maternal morbidities, such as obstetric fistulas, by, inter alia, integrating a comprehensive package of sexual and reproductive health interventions, including access to safe abortion to the full extent of the law, measures for preventing and avoiding unsafe abortions, and for the provision of post-abortion care, into national UHC strategies, policies and programmes, and to protect and ensure all individuals’ right to bodily integrity, autonomy and reproductive rights, and to provide access to essential services in support of these rights.
