Commitment description:Young people will
1. Advocate for the restructuring of DOVVSU to be an autonomous institution or DOVVSU personnel to be included as first respondents to SGBV cases
2. Invest time and resources in educating themselves and friends on sexual rights and human rights
3. Advocate for and create awareness on social media on the amendment of laws to include stricter punishments for SGBV offenders
4. Advocate for and create awareness on the role of men and boys also as victims and change agents of SGBV
5. Create awareness through press conferences on the need for the youth to be involved in policy formulation which are SGBV related
6. Change any form of self-centered behaviour and be each other’s keeper; checking on friends when there is a change in their behavior
7. Organize focused group discussions with community leaders to contribute to the formulation of by-laws on handling SGBV cases
8. Form and strengthen SRHR alliances of young people to disseminate information about where and how to report cases of sexual abuse
9. Call for and participate in social media testimonials/campaigns that encourage young survivors of SGBV to speak up
10. Volunteer their youthful exuberance and skills to organizations that fight against SGBV

- Programmatic actionGhanaian youth have organized a consultative event for young people to deliberate and have a unified front on the commitments that is representative of young people in Ghana at the Nairobi Summit.
(5) (a) Zero sexual and gender-based violence and harmful practices, including zero child, early and forced marriage, as well as zero female genital mutilation; and (b) Elimination of all forms of discrimination against all women and girls, in order to realize all individuals’ full socio-economic potential.
