Supporting Improved Maternal and Newborn Health Outcomes Through Integrated Primary Healthcare Delivery Models
Commitment description:In support of the ICPD25 Summit and as part of its Every Woman Every Child commitment, GE Healthcare will continue to implement evidence-based interventions that improve access to quality and affordable maternal and newborn health services and as a result, support improved maternal and newborn health (MNH) outcomes in Africa. This work will support the expectant mother’s pregnancy and delivery journey, as well as the newborn’s survival past those critical 28 days of the neonatal period and will result in the training of 10,000 healthcare professionals, including midwives and nurses, by 2030 across Africa.
We will continue working with like-minded stakeholders and partners to design and implement integrated MNH programs at scale by building upon the 19 MNH programs we have in 7 countries on the continent. The support of states through their Ministries of Health or other dedicated health entities is key in this journey.
