We envision, a Zambia where there is zero harmful practices such as child marriage, sexual and gender based violence and other traditional practices that may violate the rights of women, girls and children.
Commitment description:• We commit to end all forms of discrimination against women and girls by domesticating international and regional instruments such as the Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination against Women and Girls, Maputo Plan of Action, SADC protocol on gender and development and SADC model law on ending child marriage.
• We commit to end child marriage by taking all necessary measures to accelerate implementation of the National Strategy and other policy and legislative frameworks to end child marriage by 2030.
• We commit to eradicate harmful traditional practices, such as sexual cleansing and some negative aspects of rites of passage that violate the rights of women, girls and children.
• We commit to end sexual and gender based violence by operationalization of the Anti-Gender Based Violence Act No.1 of 2011 and Gender Equity and Equality Act No.22 of 2015.
