Commitment description:

The Kingdom of Tonga under the “Tonga Strategic Development Framework 2015 – 2025” or TSDF strives for a more progressive Tonga: Enhancing our Inheritance. The TSDF is impressively complemented and interwoven together with key Global and Regional Commitments including the UN Sustainable Developments Goals, SAMOA Pathway and the concepts of Leaving No One Behind. The intricate tapestry woven within this roadmap allows Tonga to navigate forward in a sustainable and inclusive manner. On that note, Tonga is already committed to meeting the SDGs and accelerating the progress towards its achievement in 2030. Within the Tonga’s Strategic Development Framework there are 5 key elaborate Pillars of Development, Pillar 2 which focuses on Social Institutions outlines one key Organizational Outcome and that is “Improved health care and delivery systems or universal health coverage”. Tonga realizes and acknowledges the importance of good health and well-being and how it plays a significant role in the development of the country and her people. To meet these aspirations we as a country strive to accelerate progress towards the sustainable development goals and to ensure that everyone in Tonga has equal access and equal opportunities to the means of improving their lives and their health.
