Improve the Quality of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) at schools
Commitment description:The landmark Program of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development not only has not lost its value today, but also has proven itself as a program that comprehensively addresses the issue of population and development. Mongolia views that implementation of the Program of Action as one of important instruments to achieve SDG 2030 goals and has been continuously working towards its effective implementation through integrating the Program into national policies and programs.
Mongolia has adopted population and development policies including Three-Pillar Development Policy (2018), Economy and Sustainable Economic Development Policy, Environment and Green Development Policy (2014), the State Policy on Population (2016) and on Health (2017), as well as the Gender Equality Law (2011), Law on Combatting against Domestic Violence, Law on Child Protection, Law on the Rights of the Child, Law on the Human Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2016), Law on Promotion of Youth Development and Law on Elderly (2017) over the past few years. The implementation of these measures, laws and policies have positively contributed to strengthening the legal framework and contributed to the population and development, social and economic situation in the country. More that 500 actions have been taken within the framework of the adopted policies and laws.
In this regard, I wish to highlight that the Government of Mongolia has been taking specific measures to achieve the Program of Action of the ICPD and the Asian and Pacific Ministerial Declaration on Population and Development adopted last year in Bangkok.
