Gozarte - Uruguay
Commitment description:As "Gozarte" a youth organization working to defend and promote Sexual and Reproductive Rights, we affirm our commitment to the Principles of the Cairo Plan of Action, and especially the Montevideo Consensus and its Operational Guide. The rights consacrated in Uruguay were achieved through the citizen organization and governments committed to the effective fulfillment of this agenda. This places us as the second country in the region, after Cuba, according to Miraquetemiro, citizen monitoring carried out in 23 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. We commit ourselves to defend what has been achieved, strengthen our organizational capacity and resist any attempt to regress. We propose to advance in overcoming stereotyped gender models, eradicating authoritarian and violent power relations and universalizing unrestricted respect for human rights, the autonomy of decisions and the free exercise of sexuality, without discrimination. We want to be more and more young people participating in all fields from the local to the international, in all our diversities working for a common objective: that human rights, including sexual and reproductive rights, are guaranteed, promoted and respected socially, culturally, legally and politically.
(1) Intensify our efforts for the full, effective and accelerated implementation and funding of the ICPD Programme of Action, Key Actions for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action of the ICPD, the outcomes of its reviews, and Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.
