ZERO MATERNAL DEATHS
Commitment description:A commitment from Network of NGOs of Trinidad and Tobago for the Advancement of Women to the overall goal of zero preventable maternal deaths by 2030. The Network supports this commitment to increase awareness on the issue of safe abortions as it is usually the poor and dispossessed who are unable to secure a safe abortion and are then left at the mercy of backroom abortions. This can be done through an advocacy campaign that involves education, removal of stigma and shame associated with seeking of safe abortion and lobbying for appropriate legislation by 2030.
The cost of mounting an advocacy campaign for a 2-year period is approximately US$500,000.
