Reproductive Health in Egypt
Commitment description:1. Increase 5% annual investments and funding allocation in national and civil society programs on sexual and reproductive health, information and education programs which specifically address unmet contraceptive needs
2. Integrate comprehensive education on sexual and reproductive health into the national educational curricula and ensure the necessary resources and training for its full and effective implementation, in accordance with the national Strategy for Population and Development 15-30 by 2030
3. Ensure the provision and access to sexual and reproductive health information and services through national medical insurance, including young people, people with disabilities and under-served population, in accordance with the Universal Health Coverage declaration by 2027

- Change or creation of legislationo Conduct regular meetings with parliamentarians (Health – Social Affairs) committees in particular to pressure the government
Achieve universal access to sexual and reproductive health as a part of universal health coverage (UHC)(3) Zero preventable maternal deaths and maternal morbidities, such as obstetric fistulas, by, inter alia, integrating a comprehensive package of sexual and reproductive health interventions, including access to safe abortion to the full extent of the law, measures for preventing and avoiding unsafe abortions, and for the provision of post-abortion care, into national UHC strategies, policies and programmes, and to protect and ensure all individuals’ right to bodily integrity, autonomy and reproductive rights, and to provide access to essential services in support of these rights.
