Commitment description:

1. Increase the number of abortion providers by advocating for and providing comprehensive abortion care training.
2. Promoting best practice in women’s sexual and reproductive health care, globally.
3. Reducing maternal mortality and morbidity by providing comprehensive training for healthcare providers in obstetrics and gynaecology, e.g. PPH and improving the quality of care at the second stage of labour
4. Expanding our membership especially in regions with high unmet need, to encourage the study of obstetrics and gynaecology and advance the science and practice of O&G

(3) Zero preventable maternal deaths and maternal morbidities, such as obstetric fistulas, by, inter alia, integrating a comprehensive package of sexual and reproductive health interventions, including access to safe abortion to the full extent of the law, measures for preventing and avoiding unsafe abortions, and for the provision of post-abortion care, into national UHC strategies, policies and programmes, and to protect and ensure all individuals’ right to bodily integrity, autonomy and reproductive rights, and to provide access to essential services in support of these rights.
