Indonesian Young People Commitment
Commitment description:We, young people of Indonesia welcomed the Government of Indonesia (GoI) commitment on ICPD25 and we emphasized our commitment to being actively involved in ICPD PoA acceleration efforts, through various voluntary innovations and initiatives, By 2030, we commit to support and engaged with GoI to :
1.Integrate CSE policies in the national curriculum and its financing in the RPJMN and RPJMD to ensure the implementation of SRHR education within national curricula
2.Improve SRH services and education for young people with a comprehensive and inclusive approach, and integration of parenting skills in ensuring diverse young people, including special and specific needs, obtain a healthy and quality life and are not at risk.
Engage community and religious leaders to carry out interventions aimed at resolving the root causes of cultural practices that endanger the health of women and children.
4.Develop national strategies for men and boys involvement as a basis for social and cultural norms changes to support gender equality.
Integrate climate crisis, disaster, and SRH intocollaboration for climate action synergies in order to create effective mitigation, resilience, and adaptation.
6.Develop a mechanism for collecting, managing and disseminating SRHR’s data that has been synchronized between government agencies and is easily accessible to the public and disaggregated by age, gender, and geographical location
7Engage with CSOs, UN Agencies, and cross-stakeholders to provide sustainable investment for a digital platform based SRHR information and services for young people to prevent irresponsible information (hoaxes).
8Develop coordination system between institutions, both government and cross-stakeholders, and young people in decision-making on policies and programs. This effort includes providing support related to knowledge, organizational capacity, and expertise needed to support significant and inclusive participation for young people with diverse background.
Mode of engagement:
- Programmatic actionA Youth Consultation meeting for Nairobi Summit was held by a group of young people aged 19-30 years with the aim of identifying needs and producing recommendations from young people to the Government of Indonesia (GoI).
(1) Intensify our efforts for the full, effective and accelerated implementation and funding of the ICPD Programme of Action, Key Actions for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action of the ICPD, the outcomes of its reviews, and Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.
