Asia-Pacific youth commit to strengthen our engagement with policy and program implementations at all levels
Commitment description:By 2030, we acknowledge and reaffirm that the ICPD PoA and 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda are young people’s agenda and commit to ensuring that spaces are created for young people from any background to meaningfully engage in its implementation, monitoring, and evaluation at all levels—from the local to global.
By 2030, we commit to addressing shrinking spaces for civil society, and advocate our governments to provide institutional spaces and funding for youth and women’s organizations, through delivering voices of the marginalized youth.
Mode of engagement:
- Policy and guidanceReaffirmation of the Youth Call-to-Action prepared at the 2018 Mid-term Review of the Asia Pacific Ministerial Declaration on Population and Development, at the ICPD25 Regional Consultation held in Bangkok.
(11) Committing to the notion that nothing about young people’s health and well-being can be discussed and decided upon without their meaningful involvement and participation (“nothing about us, without us”).
