Youth to Youth for CSE
Commitment description:At the International Foundation for Y-PEER Development, working in partnership with the International Institute for Youth development PETRI – Sofia, we know that adolescents and young people need support, age appropriate and adequate information, comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) and access to youth responsive services. We also know that young people could be one of the best teachers and trainers for the other young people, that they speak the same language, share the same achievements of new technologies, could build a common understanding of a new, better and fairer reality and could build it together. We believe that fulfilment of the potential of every young person goes through understanding of his/her own needs and through the process of empowerment for fulfilment of his/her own choices and dreams. That’s why we, the International Foundation for Y-PEER Development and the International Institute for Youth development PETRI – Sofia commit by the end of 2025 to equip 100 young activists and 50 young professionals with innovative tools and techniques to act as trainers in CSE and to be able to engage at best 50 000 adolescents and young people in improving their knowledge and skills on SRHR and gender equality in order to make informed choices about their sexuality and reproductive lives, to adequately protect themselves from unintended pregnancies, gender-based violence, sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS, and to be able to transition into adulthood as healthy, happy and capable citizens.
