Unfinished business: AIDS
Commitment description:Next month, Frontline AIDS will launch a new Global Plan of Action for 2020 to 2025. The Global Plan sets out ten critical actions that will help the world to secure a future free from AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
• Action 1 pledges to engage and influence governments and donors to improve access to comprehensive HIV prevention services – including comprehensive sexuality education.
• Action 5 commits to challenging harmful and discriminatory social and gender norms that prevent marginalised people – including young women and adolescent girls – from claiming their right to health.
• Lastly, Action 10 promises to develop a new generation of leaders and activists.
Frontline AIDS is proud to contribute to the ICPD +25 Commitments through these actions, and especially to Commitment 4, on ensuring access for adolescents and youth to comprehensive and age-appropriate information, education and adolescent-friendly services.
