STRENGTHEN ADOLESCENT AND YOUTH MEANINGFUL PARTICIPATION IN THE DECISION MAKING AND IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS ON HEALTH AND WELL-BEING NATIONAL GOALS.
Commitment description:We, AfriYAN Cabo Verde, are committed to the overarching goal of strengthening adolescent and youth meaningful participation in the decision making process on health and well-being, at national level, on the civic and public sectors, with special attention to the inclusion of minority groups with lower opportunities of participation.
To achieve this goal we will work in order to increase the quantity and quality of adolescent and youth participation by providing them with personal skills for a quality participation and opportunities to engage on decision making and implementation of related initiatives. The strategic guidelines will be a two-way approach (youth and key partners) using empowerment and advocacy tools.
Thus, the actions we will undertake will be: (1) to provide information and training on quality participation on health and well-being; (2) national mapping on key development partners on this area; (3) promoting, advocating and negotiating for meaningful adolescent and youth inclusion on the decision making and implementation process on the matter.
We aim to achieve zero unrepresented populations and zero relevant project with no youth engagement.
Our action will be carried out by assembling the projects, followed by their execution and then the presentation of the results at national level during the first semester of 2020.
Mode of engagement:
- Programmatic actionOur commitment is to strengthen adolescent and youth meaningful participation in the decision making and implementation process on health and well-being national goals thought empowerment and advocacy.
(11) Committing to the notion that nothing about young people’s health and well-being can be discussed and decided upon without their meaningful involvement and participation (“nothing about us, without us”).
