SRHR for All: JOICFP Advancing SRHR Movement in Japan and Abroad
Commitment description:[UPDATED] As a national NGO with a 50-year dedication to family planning and sexual and reproductive health and rights, JOICFP (Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning) commits to intensifying efforts to realize the ICPD Program of Action by; focusing to reach underserved and hard-to-reach populations in Africa and Asia, capacity building of service providers through trainings and workshops, mobilizing the youth to be peer activists, and raising awareness of gender equality and SRHR in Japan. JOICFP also commits to accelerating the achievement of SDGs, focusing on SDG Goal 3, 5 and 17 with other civil society groups in Japan and abroad.
Modes of engagement:
- Policy and guidanceAs the secretariat of Japan CSO Network on Global Health, JOICFP will commit to advancing SRHR agenda into Japan’s global health policy and strategy towards SDGs, in cooperation with overseas and multilateral organizations.
- Programmatic actionIn Africa, JOICFP will train 2,000 community health workers/personnel, and provide 600,000 people with SRHR services by 2022. In Japan, JOICFP will train 190 youth/activists to reach 10,000 people for promoting gender equality and SRHR by 2020.
