Scientific support for policymakers

- Monitoring the dynamics of the main demographic processes, developing hypotheses regarding changes in the dynamics of fertility, mortality, internal and external migration.
- Developing of demographic forecasts, forecasting of number of different categories / subgroups of population (students, economically active population, pensioners).
- Improvement of the instruments for demographic situation monitoring of territorials (Integral Territorial Index of Demographic Security);
- Calculation of the Active Aging Index with a periodicity of 3 years;
- Implementation of the National transfer accounts methodology for monitoring of the influence of demographic changes on socio-economic dynamics, public finances, gender equity and between generations.
- Developing policies measures for stabilize the demographic situation, based on the study of the experience of the countries from the region facing similar problems, highlighting the reserves of diminishing the demographic decline and the conservation of human capital.
