Reducing the rate of early marriage from 13% to 5%.
Commitment description:- Interventional policy programs are being prepared to confront the phenomenon of early marriage, in light of the results of a study on environment generating early marriage in Syria, which was prepared by the Syrian Commission for Family and Population Affairs.
- Law No. 24 of 2018 was issued in which penalties for underage marriage were increased.
- Work is currently being carried out on the Child Rights Law in Syria, which includes in one of its clauses the minimum age for marriage by completing the age of eighteen years for both males and females.
- Preparing the national strategy to support and empower women in Syria: within the framework of the serious and continuous endeavors implemented by the state in order to crystallize efforts and coordinate national plans towards upgrading the status of women with a view to addressing imbalances, particularly those that have arisen in the context of the crisis and have left tragic effects on society, infrastructure and paths Progress in its various social and economic dimensions
