Promote and implement policies to advocate for sexual and reproductive rights
Commitment description:Ecuador commits to ensuring that everyone has a life free from all forms of gender-based violence and the full exercise of sexual and reproductive rights by 2030, working to eliminate structural barriers due to ethnicity, class, age and sexual orientation, among others, that prevent their full exercise and foster inequality and gender discrimination. To do so, it will promote the review and elimination of all laws and regulations that prevent women and girls from taking free and autonomous decisions on their sexuality and reproduction; seek to ensure the economic resources to allow the implementation of public sexual and reproductive health policies, the prevention of child and adolescent pregnancy, the prevention of maternal deaths, comprehensive sexuality education, care and treatment for people living with HIV, and, if said policies do not exist, it commits to creating them in accordance with the international commitments and agreements made in the Cairo Programme of Action, the Montevideo Consensus and the constitutional guarantees.
