Commitment description:

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), as international, independent medical humanitarian organization that operates in complex humanitarian settings, commits to continue its efforts related to SRH in order to prevent maternal mortality and morbidity through the provision and access to:
• A comprehensive package of emergency obstetric and neonatal care
• Safe abortion care
• Contraception
• Preventive obstetric care (such as antenatal care and postnatal care)

Additionally, MSF commits to continue its efforts in providing a comprehensive medical package of care to persons subjected to sexual violence that includes prevention of STIs and unwanted pregnancies, mental health support, contraception and access to safe abortion care.

(3) Zero preventable maternal deaths and maternal morbidities, such as obstetric fistulas, by, inter alia, integrating a comprehensive package of sexual and reproductive health interventions, including access to safe abortion to the full extent of the law, measures for preventing and avoiding unsafe abortions, and for the provision of post-abortion care, into national UHC strategies, policies and programmes, and to protect and ensure all individuals’ right to bodily integrity, autonomy and reproductive rights, and to provide access to essential services in support of these rights.
