Commitment description:Commitments: WCARO contribution
By 2030 :
1. By 2030, we commit our effort to accompany countries in West and Central Africa in the effort to mobilize all partners - financial institutions, private sector, CSO, religious and traditional leaders, young people, academia and all other stakeholders to support the region to harness the Demographic Dividend;
2. We commit to supporting countries in West and Central Africa to improve their statistical institutions and to make available disaggregated data for policymaking;
3. We commit to continue and expand our support for the development and implementation of policies and programmes to eliminate evitable maternal mortality, unmet need for family planning across West and Central Africa,
4. We commit to continue our support to policies and programmes to eliminate gender-based violence, as well as child marriage and Female Genital Mutilation across West and Central Africa,
5. we commit to contribute along with other specialized UN agencies to support all countries in the region to reform their existing education system to adapt it to the job market;
6. We commit to contribute regional programmes which combat the climate change, security threat, radicalization and illegal migration of young Africans;
By 2024
7. We commit to advocate for the adoption of legislation to integrate the Comprehensive Sexuality Education into the curricula system in 20 countries in West and Central Africa;
