Commitment description:As parliamentarians and members of NEAPACOH, we commit to accelerate the implementation of the ICPD PoA an achievement of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development, by according the highest priority to the integration of reproductive health and family planning into national development plans and strategies across sectors To achieve this by 2030, we will: • monitor implementation of ICPD PoA, the Addis Ababa Declaration on Population and Development, the SDGs, Maputo Protocol and Maputo Plan of Action and other regional and international commitments on gender equality, population, and elimination of harmful practices, including child marriage and female genital mutilation • promote the development of appropriate laws, policies, investments and innovative approaches to ensure universal access to reproductive health and family planning and the wider sexual and reproductive health agenda, including achieving zero unmet need for family planning, zero preventable maternal deaths, and zero gender-based violence and harmful practices, advocate for increased financial resources, including domestic, bilateral and multilateral funding, to increase effective programmes to accelerate implementation of the ICPD PoA and the SDGs in our countries • adopt and strengthen South-South and Triangular Cooperation to facilitate the sharing of knowledge on population and development • provide leadership and stewardship on policy, legislation and perform budgetary oversight for reproductive health and family planning • promote reproductive health and family planning and emerging killer and non-communicable diseases as contributing to enhanced economic development • initiate, support and enact laws for the realization of Universal Health Coverage and primary health care • advocate for investments in young people with a focus on education to harness the Demographic Dividend

(1) Intensify our efforts for the full, effective and accelerated implementation and funding of the ICPD Programme of Action, Key Actions for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action of the ICPD, the outcomes of its reviews, and Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.
