LETTER FROM FLORA TRISTAN

Commitment description:

Letter from CMP FLORA TRISTÁN

Nairobi / Cairo Summit + 25

As a feminist institution, with more than 40 years defending human rights and gender equality,

We recognize and reaffirm that gender equality constitutes a good for humanity, and one of the key foundations on which to build the rule of law to strengthen and expand democracy for all people, especially for those who have been historically discriminated against and restricted in the exercise of their human rights.

We commit ourselves to prevent, eradicate and sanction gender-based violence in all its expressions and areas in which it manifests itself. In particular, we are committed to the eradication of forced child pregnancy, the prevention and care of teenage pregnancy, the right to legal, safe and free abortion. Ensure access to justice and reparation for victims of gender-based crimes, especially of women in their diversity, girls, boys, LGBTIQ +, indigenous and afrolatino people.

We reaffirm our commitment to the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (Cairo 1994) and to the Montevideo Consensus of the I Regional Conference on Population and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean (Montevideo 2013.
