Lesotho Youth Commitment to Accelerating the Promise of ICPD: The road to Nairobi
Commitment description:The Government of Lesotho recognizes Universal access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights as one of the cornerstones of population and development and as a key target of the SDGs.
Both the ICPD and SDGs recognize the need to protect, promote and fulfil the Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights of all young people in all their diversity giving particular attention to young women and girls and all other vulnerable and marginalized groups
Therefore, the Young People of Lesotho in all diversity, gathered on the 5th July 2019 in Maseru Avani, Committed to Accelerating the Promise of ICPD for the attainment of SDGs by 2030.
Achieve universal access to sexual and reproductive health as a part of universal health coverage (UHC)(4) Access for all adolescents and youth, especially girls, to comprehensive and age-responsive information, education and adolescent-friendly comprehensive, quality and timely services to be able to make free and informed decisions and choices about their sexuality and reproductive lives, to adequately protect themselves from unintended pregnancies, all forms of sexual and gender-based violence and harmful practices, sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS, to facilitate a safe transition into adulthood.
