Implementation of comprehensive sexuality education
Commitment description:Invest in adolescents and young people. Prioritize investment in adolescents and young people within a framework of human rights, where they are guaranteed social protection, access to formal and non-formal education (public, universal, secular, intercultural, free of discrimination, free-of-charge and high-quality), comprehensive health (including sexual and reproductive health), work and employment in decent conditions, and the participation of young people as protagonists in the whole public policy process. All this must take place in an environment free of violence and without criminalizing or stigmatizing young people, taking into account the specific needs of those living in urban, suburban or rural areas. Similarly, the states are responsible for building supportive environments that generate opportunities and spaces for empowerment and participation so that young people can fully realize their potential. Fight against impunity. Respond effectively to impunity for violence based on gender, sexual orientation and gender identity or violations of sexual and reproductive rights so that they are eliminated from our societies, including in situations of emergency, conflict or disaster, and so that they are effectively condemned by justice and rejected by society; protect due diligence to ensure effective access to justice, as well as protection, punishment and comprehensive reparation for damage, with protocols for the delivery of justice with a gender and intercultural perspective. This response includes the eradication of stereotypes and prejudices that deny sexual and gender diversity in all branches of the state – including the judicial branch – in order to ensure justice free from stigma and discrimination.
