FHI 360 commits to expanding contraceptive choice and promoting family planning in integrated programs to decrease maternal, newborn, and child mortality
Commitment description:FHI 360 is committed to expanding the evidence base to reduce unmet need for family planning, improve maternal and child health, reduce gender-based violence, and increase access to high-quality contraceptive services worldwide. FHI 360 will work to expand access to effective self-care options; support integrated RMNCH services; advance community-based FP and task-sharing; increase method choice; expand voluntary FP use among youth; promote gender equity; and develop new contraceptive methods.
Modes of engagement:
- Policy and guidanceFHI 360 will continue to work with normative bodies and governments to translate clinical and programmatic evidence into policies and guidance documents on topics including FP, HIV, MCH, integration, self-care, task-sharing, and gender equity.
- Programmatic actionFHI 360 will implement evidence-based solutions to support provision of FP as part of integrated RMNCH services. This will include expanding method choice and increasing community-based and self-care options that target hard-to-reach groups.
