Commitment title:

Evidence-Based Advocacy for SRH Access

Commitment description:

The Trinidad and Tobago UNFPA Youth Advisory Group (YAG) commit to urge the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (GoRTT) to incorporate the full set of sexual and reproductive health services into Universal Health Coverage (UHC), paying special attention to the poorest and most vulnerable people. Further, we commit to evidence-based advocacy for the GoRTT to revise and/or develop policies in support of equitable access to quality and affordable integrated SRH services and regulations that guarantee equal access to SRHR for all. We hope to see the removal of legal and financial barriers to accessing SRH services for adolescents and other underserved groups and shall continue to promote the adoption, implementation and monitoring of the laws and regulations that guarantee equal access to SRHR for all while delivering information and support directly to adolescents and youth on the issues that affect their SRHR.

Mode of engagement:
  • Programmatic action
Engage in virtual campaigns and community and school-based programmers to bring attention to the issues surrounding access to SRH. There is a need to develop modern, interactive and thought-provoking content that can appeal to the youth directly.
