Commitment title:

Ensuring quality HIV/AIDS prevention programs for the key populations in Georgia.

Commitment description:

Policy and guidance: Since Georgia is in the process of transition from GFATM funding to the state funding, Tanadgoma will continue advocating that prevention services’ packages for the key populations are approved by the state, as standards for prevention. Once this is achieved, the state funding will follow these standards, which would ensure that quality and volume of the prevention programs in maintained.

Programmatic action: Tanadgoma offers prevention services to particular key populations – MSM and sex workers. Our organization will continue provision of these services tailored to the needs of these key populations, so that HIV prevalence is maintained on the existing levels, as defined in the National HIV/AIDS Strategy for Georgia. Main forms of working with these populations are: individual and group counseling, provision of informational materials and condoms/lubricants, outreach, peer education, training, educational meetings, mobilization events, etc.
