Committing to strive for ending child marriage in Bangladesh by 2030 but not by 2041

Commitment description:

Government is committed to reduce to child marriage for girls to be at least 18 years as legal age at marriage but there are gaps between National Action Plan (NAP) on child marriage to eliminate by 2041 whereas SDG target 5.3 has been set for 2030. Thus we are committing to advocate for integration and coordination among polices and plans along with compulsory secondary education for girls to eliminate child marriage in Bangladesh by 2030.

    Mode of engagement will be policy dialogues, seminars, media involvement and motivating students to join the movement against child marriage at their local communities through volunteering.
