Commitment to working endlessly for combating and having zero gender based violence, female genital mutilation/cutting and girl child marriage
Commitment description:We the Gender and Reproductive Health and Rights Resource & Advocacy Center (GRACe) of Ahfad University for Women, Sudan commit to providing all necessary evidence and support for creating effective change agents from community, particularly women and youth, supporting their capacity enhancement in advocacy and social change and providing guidelines and technical assistance to make their interventions measurable, effective, sustainable in ending all forms of gender based violence, female genital mutilation/cutting and girl child marriage and in proving support and protection to survivors of these.
Modes of engagement:
- Policy and guidanceProviding up-to-date evidence through rigorous research and studies as well as building capacity of advocates on how to communicate research results to policy makers
- Programmatic actionCarrying out local community mobilization and youth engagement in creating sustainable social change and drawing on successful experiences by providing measurable and tangible results and effective interventions that others can use.
(5) (a) Zero sexual and gender-based violence and harmful practices, including zero child, early and forced marriage, as well as zero female genital mutilation; and (b) Elimination of all forms of discrimination against all women and girls, in order to realize all individuals’ full socio-economic potential.
