Commitment to supporting family planning
Commitment description:In 2017, the UK committed to spending on average £225m per year between 2017/18 – 2021/22 on family planning. To illustrate what this means for women, we estimated that – every year – our investment will support nearly 20m total users of contraception, prevent 6m unintended pregnancies, and so prevent more than 3m abortions, many of which would be unsafe. It will save the lives of over 6,000 women every year.
