Asia-Pacific youth commit to achieving inclusive and sustainable communities
Commitment description:By 2030, we, young people of Asia and the Pacific, commit to advocating our governments and other stakeholders to recognize and reaffirm that human rights, gender equality, equity, social inclusion and justice, and young people’s empowerment are central to sustainable development and to the full and effective implementation of the ICPD Programme of Action.
By 2030, we commit to raising awareness towards humanitarian and climate crisis, sustainable patterns of consumption and production, minimizing the impacts of urbanization, disaster preparedness and responses in our communities, countries, and regions.
Mode of engagement:
- Policy and guidanceReaffirmation of the Youth Call-to-Action prepared at the 2018 Mid-term Review of the Asia Pacific Ministerial Declaration on Population and Development, at the ICPD25 Regional Consultation held in Bangkok.
(9) Building peaceful, just and inclusive societies, where no one is left behind, where all, irrespective of race, colour, religion, sex, age, disability, language, ethnic origin, sexual orientation and gender identity or expression, feel valued and are able to shape their own destiny and contribute to the prosperity of their societies.
