Acceleration of the ICPD Promise through Data Driven Smart Advocacy to Advance Universal Access to FP and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights
Commitment description:Jhpiego commits to accelerate the promise of ICPD by anchoring its investments and priorities in support of 0 unmet need for family planning through universal health coverage (UHC), inclusive of access to sexual reproductive health and rights for all persons who need them, including adolescents. Jhpiego believes that UHC will only be achievable through intersectoral collaboration promoting community self-reliance, as well as strong primary healthcare (PHC) systems—the first point of contact of essential care. PHC affords the most effective, efficient approach to equitable access to health care. Our vision is to empower clients and communities, and in particular, women and girls, so that they are not just recipients of health services, but are proactive in shaping--with key partners--the type and quality of services that are provided. Through data-driven smart advocacy, strengthened civil society policy promotion and coordination, and mutual learning approaches, Jhpiego commits to shape and leverage impactful partnerships to ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health and rights as a part of UHC. Our pledge includes addressing policy barriers; mobilizing sustainable domestic investments through innovative financing mechanisms; increasing political capital that will be invested in supporting implementation of proven, high-impact interventions at scale; and bolstering performance, accountability and tracking of commitments. These actions will facilitate the delivery of high-quality care that is people-centered, community owned, integrated, continuous, comprehensive and equitable. In addition, Jhpiego commits to increase the use of actionable measurement to fast track the scale-up of proven, high impact interventions, including harnessing technology and other innovative solutions to improve quality and promote sustained, equitable health outcomes.
