Commitment to prevention and Response of FGM/c and GBV/CP cases in Somalia
Commitment description:At TIDES, we believe that everyone should be able to live a life of dignity.We believe that women and girls have the power to make change happen and that they should be at the center of our response,we should acess the culturally appropriate solutions to the problem of gender-based violence. Our vision aligns with the ICPD25 & Somalia +25 commitments towards ending gender-based violence and harmful practices.We are therefore pledging an amount of U.S $15.4 million over the next five years.These resources will be spent holistically across our activities(Awareness-raising and outreach targeting single women and girls survivors of GBV,
Unaccompanied children doing including those doing menial jobs, those from large families;
males and females from marginalized groups including IDPs, Refugees, Disabled, Asylum
seekers and any other group identified. 40,000 girls, 35000 boys, 20000 women and 15000 men
reached through prevention messages and awareness sessions including on
recruitment/CAAFAG, SGBV,harmful practice, family separation and Children's rights,Capacity building and training to community members systematically representative of the
population trained on CP structures, approaches and remedies) We hope to leverage more resources for work on gender-based violence and we will work to ensure that these resources are directed towards those women and girls most affected based in all region . We hope to encourage coordination, collaboration and coalition between different sectors from Community, the private sector, civil society, Government because no single organization can solve violence against women and girls by acting alone. We are, furthermore, committing to channel resources towards preventing violence before it starts and addressing the intersection of race, class, age, disability and sexual orientation in cases of violence against women and girls in order to achieve our goal of a world where women and girls are finally free from all forms of violence.

- Programmatic actionAs TIDES we commits zero tolerance of FGM/c and reducing GBV cases in Somalia by 2030, to be conducts training of social works in the region, Conducting awareness raising sections towards GBV and FCM/c
(5) (a) Zero sexual and gender-based violence and harmful practices, including zero child, early and forced marriage, as well as zero female genital mutilation; and (b) Elimination of all forms of discrimination against all women and girls, in order to realize all individuals’ full socio-economic potential.
